Each year, thousands of university students spend the Holy Week in Rome, and thus have the opportunity of experiencing the cultural, historic and spiritual richness of this city. During the week, cultural meetings, congresses, conferences, exhibitions and concerts are organized. These offer the participants the chance of deepening their knowledge on the specific themes of the university world, in particular the need of paying attention to those in most need.<\/p>\n<p>The first meetings were organized by the initiative of Saint Josemar\u00eda, founder of the Opus Dei: tens of thousands of university students and professors, over four decades, have expanded their own cultural horizons within the universal atmosphere of the Christendom.<\/p>\n<p>The congress\u2019s theme this year is \u201cRethinking the Future\u201d and took place from the 25th of March and the 1st of April of 2018.<\/p>\n<h6>FROM THE UNIVERSITY TO THE FIRM<\/h6>\n<p>Periodically, \u00c1lamos organizes a program to help transition to professional life. It counts with the scientific pedagogic collaboration of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/formacao-executiva.aese.pt\/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8L6V7NfI1wIVRT8bCh1UjggLEAAYASAAEgIAD_D_BwE\">AESE Business School<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Este curso \u00e9 uma ferramenta importante para apoiar universit\u00e1rias das mais variadas \u00e1reas (engenharia, farm\u00e1cia, economia, direito, letras, psicologia, etc.) na transi\u00e7\u00e3o entre a vida de estudante e o trabalho numa empresa.<\/p>\n<h6>THINK! OUTSIDE OF THE BOX<\/h6>\n<p>Would you like to deepen your knowledge on themes such as freedom, happiness and pain? Think! Outside of the box, is an activity for university students who don\u2019t accept \u201cgiven answers\u201d, who raise questions, who look for more profound reasons&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In each session a theme will be discussed, moderated by Professor&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fcsh.unl.pt\/faculdade\/docentes\/mmag\">Marta Mendon\u00e7a<\/a>(Philosophy Professor in the Humanities School of Universidade Nova de Lisboa). Before the conversation, we provide a text so that people can prepare for the debate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alamoslisboa.org\/tob-debates\/\">More information<\/a>&nbsp;(in Portuguese).<\/p>\n<h6>CONFERENCE CYCLE ON BIOETHICS<\/h6>\n<p>Some of the students in \u00c1lamos whose university programme concerns the health field, felt the need to deepen their knowledge regarding some bioethical issues, question which are increasingly debated in society and affect all of us, and health professionals particularly. As such, these conferences on bioethics have been organized: each discusses a specific topic, with the intention of giving an anthropologic foundation behind the issues for future doctors and all interested university students.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conference Cycle on Bioethics&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alamoslisboa.org\/ciclo-de-bioetica\/\">Programme<\/a>&nbsp;2015-2016 (in Portuguese).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>LAW CLUB<\/h6>\n<p>Promoted by law students, the law club consists in sporadic informal debate sessions on legal cases, between an invited professor and the participants.
